El profesor prehistórico no vive en Darien, sino en una finca muy vieja en Llanos Blancos, y todas las mañanas viaja por media hora para llegar a Darien. Su casa fue construída en el año 1919, y hay tranquilidad en su finca – pero él ha trabajado con muchos jóvenes en su grupo de servicio comunitario que tuvieron dificultades y que cometieron delitos. El profesor también dio cursos en dos cárceles, hace muchos años.

How do crime, violence, and security issues affect the lives of young people in our community and in our world?
Regardless of where we live, law and order and the basic right to go about one’s affairs unhindered by intimidation or a threatening, unsafe environment is of paramount importance and great concern. We are fortunate to live and study in a beautiful community in which tranquility and security are taken for granted – and yet there are negative elements in the world which impact our lives.
Let us write our thoughts about this issue, proposed by our good friends who have offered to share thoughts and opinions with us. The young people of today will change the world of tomorrow. Worldwide violence and crime and fanaticism occupy every headline in today’s newspapers. Can we help a happier world to become reality, community by community, in the future?
